Paul Chandler has over 20 years' experience as a classroom teacher in government and independent secondary schools, where his specialisations are ICT, Science and the professional development of teachers. Paul's PhD study was a case study of "self-taught computer-using teachers", which considered the relationship between different forms of teachers' knowledge and pedagogy.
Since 2009, Paul has worked alongside Prof Len Unsworth investigating the pedagogy of multimodal literacies, which is now his major research focus. He is co-ordinator of the GradDipEd/MTeach (secondary) course on the Melbourne campus, and has an interest in exploring the ICT-related knowledge of pre-service teachers and it's impact on their emerging classroom practices. Paul has expertise in both case study and qualitative methods.
