  • Professor Peter Wilson

    Professor Wilson is Co-Director of the Centre for Disability and Development Research (CeDDR) and Professor of Developmental Psychology at ACU. Before that he was Deputy Head (R&I) in the School of Health Sciences at RMIT University where he worked from 2000-2011. He leads international programs of research in child development, disability and rehabilitation which now span 23 years and over 120 peer-reviewed publications. His research involves two streams: (i) mechanisms of movement and cognition in typical child development and in neurodevelopmental disorders (esp. DCD), and (ii) innovations in neurorehabilitation using VR, including the award-winning Elements DNA (EDNA) system. Prof. Wilson is past President of the International Society for Research on DCD.

    Dr Haifeng Shen is the Discipline Leader of Information Technology in the Peter Faber Business School at Australian Catholic University (ACU). Before joining ACU in 2019, he had been a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in the School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics at Flinders University in Australia since 2009 and an Assistant Professor in the School of Computer Science and Engineering at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore from 2003 to 2009. Dr Shen also has over six years working experience in industry as a software engineer, computer system administrator and programmer before becoming an academic.

    Dr Shen currently leads the Human-centric Data Analytics and Visualisation (hDAV) research group at ACU. Dr Shen's primary research expertise is in Intelligent and Interactive Software and Technology. He develops and studies intelligent human-centred collaborative and social software systems across a variety of platforms for people to share, communicate, interact, and collaborate with one another over communication networks through human-AI-interaction.

    Dr Shen has published over 110 research papers at international conferences and journals, including top venues such as ACM Transactions on Computer Human Interaction (TOCHI), ACM Transactions on Internet Technology (TOIT), IEEE Transactions on Industrial Informatics (TII), and IEEE Transactions on Computational Social Systems (TCSS).

    Dr Shen has supervised 8 PhD completions as the principle supervisor at Flinders University and Nanyang Technological University. Dr Shen has been a general chair or program chair for a number of international conferences such as International Conference on Information Visualization, International Conference on Computer Graphics, Imaging, and Visualization, Australasian Software Engineering Conference, and Australasian Human Computer Interaction Conference.
